I’ve always loved capturing moments, but it wasn’t until a few months ago that I decided to dive deeper and improve my skills. I learned to shoot in manual and started experimenting with my camera, which led me to discover a passion for shooting cars and car events.
I’m by no means a professional, but I really enjoy what I do.
CARS & EVENTS
Cars have been a passion of mine for a long time. It's easy to look at a car and just notice the color or model, but each car is unique and tells a story. For some, cars are just a way to get from point A to point B, but for others, their car is their whole life, cared for like their own child. Old cars with scratches and rust show character and the passing of time, while new modern cars offer sleek lines that catch your eye.
I love both – the history of the old and the look of the new. I choose all my shooting locations based on the car, but mostly, I want the cars to stay on the asphalt where they belong. I use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to edit and finalize my images.
Below, you can check out some of my past shoots from newest to oldest.
BMW F22 M235i, 2015
I've photographed this BMW a few times now and it's been really helpful in seeing how much I've improved. Even though the car is familiar, I still manage to find new angles and little details. It's a good reminder that practice really does pay off.
Jyväskylä Night Cruising - event, 2025
Cruising season has officially started in Jyväskylä. The weather was perfect , clear skies and a warm sunset that added a lot of visual interest to the photos. I love the energy these events bring, so let’s enjoy the season while it lasts.
May Day Cruising - event, 2025
May Day is a major holiday in Finland, and in honour of that the city of Jyväskylä had a car cruising event. They encouraged everyone with cars over 30 years old to attend, which definitely was a sight to see in the modern city scape. Below are some of my favourite cars from the event.
Volvo S70, 1998
After about six months of photographing cars for others, I finally decided to shoot my own Volvo. The teal blue colour pops in all environments, which is why I chose three different locations. Firstly I took some close-ups right after carwash, then I aimed for a nostalgic vibe with the old train station, and lastly I had to get some shots featuring the classic Finnish forest landscape.
Volvo S60, 2002
I was asked to take some listing images for this Volvo S60, which is why I kept the overall look very natural and soft. The goal was to make the car seem appealing for the buyer. The dark blue colour of the car was definitely challenging to capture in this scene, but I think I managed.
Mercedes-Benz E-Series Coupe, 2010
Since I live in Jyväskylä, I wanted to shoot this Mercedes from Helsinki in some classic spots along the shore of lake Jyväsjärvi. The sleek design and black paint of the car popped very well against the winter cityscape. The sun didn't do me any favours while shooting, but it definitely created some beautiful reflections on the car's surface.
Chevrolet Bel Air, 1962
I wanted to challenge myself and chose to shoot this classic Bel Air while it was being worked on in a dimly lit garage. I wanted the images to tell a story, and aimed for a cinematic editing style. The rough condition of the car added a lot of character, especially with the painted pink flames and flashy rims.
Volkswagen Golf II, 1990
This bright red 1990 Golf was in a really good shape considering its age. I positioned it in the middle of yellow poles to add extra visual interest to some of the images. It stood out very well against the wintery scene and I really like the outcome of these photos.
Audi A5 V6 quattro coupe, 2009
I shot this Coupe Audi A5 in the snowy Finnish winter, where its sleek design and black paint really stood out. The yellow poles added a nice touch to some of the images. With its quattro system, this car is perfectly suited for the harsh winter conditions.
Big Wheels - event, 2024
Vintage cars, especially classic American ones, have always been my favourite. When Big Wheels announced it was coming to Jyväskylä, I couldn’t wait to attend. I brought my camera along and had the chance to capture some amazing restored vintage cars, along with the vibe people created around them to bring that classic American spirit to life.
Nissan Silvia S14 - 200SX, 1997
This Nissan Silvia S14 was in exceptional condition, it's rare as these are popular drifting cars and many have been lost over the years. The bright red colour stood out very beautifully against the autumn leaves and industrial buildings.
BMW F22 M235i, 2015
My first shoot for fall was this crisp white BMW F22, it had a beautiful contrast with the lake and leafless trees. The golden glow from the classic angel eyes headlights matched perfectly with the sunset, adding a small touch of warmth to the images.
Chevrolet El Camino "Gulf", 1979
This beautiful El Camino with its Gulf inspired paintjob is a real standout on the road. I chose to shoot this during the sunset in a semi-industrial area, I think the bright blue and orange colours popped very well against the surroundings.
Skoda Octavia Combi RS, 2014
The Skoda Octavia is one of the most popular cars in Finland, very practical and performs well. This individual needed a classic Finnish landscape, which is why I shot it on a quiet road with a beautiful forest backdrop.
Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD, 1989
This 1989 Mitsubishi Pajero is a classic SUV known for its toughness. This particular car had plenty of character with its stickers, lights and rough look. I chose to shoot this during the sunset in an isolated location, it just seemed to match the car's adventurous vibe.
Volvo 740, 1988
This was my first-ever attempt at photographing a car. This 1988 Volvo 740 is an iconic Swedish car, known for its reliability and boxy design. This spot on the side of the road was an ideal shooting location for this car, as the white paint stands out very well against the bright green bushes and trees.
